What Discovery collects
The Arcjet Discovery endpoint agent reports connections to AI services on your managed devices, so that you can see which AI apps and services your organization uses.
Connections the agent reports
Section titled “Connections the agent reports”The agent reports a connection when it goes to a known AI service or comes from a known AI app. It discards other connections on the device without reporting them.
For each reported connection, the agent collects the following metadata:
- Destination: the name of the service that the connection goes to, and the AI provider that Arcjet identifies from it.
- App: the app that made the connection, and the publisher that signed it.
- Device: the device that the connection came from.
- Local account: the account on the device that the app ran under.
- Time: when the connection happened.
The agent also reports whether it’s running, so that the Console can show whether each device is reporting.
Local accounts and people
Section titled “Local accounts and people”The agent reports the local account that an app ran under. A local account is evidence for an administrator to review, not a verified identity. Several people can share one account, and an account name doesn’t prove who used it.
In the Arcjet Console, an administrator assigns each local account to a person. Discovery then attributes the account’s activity to that person. Shared, system, and unidentified accounts don’t inherit the device’s owner, and their activity stays visible without a person.
